Mabame Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that is not answered here, please email us at support@mabame.com

What is the origin of the Mabame name?

Mabame is all about capturing life memories, for yourself and your family. “Ma” is the romanization of the Chinese word for “mother” and “ba” is the romanization of the Chinese word for “father”. And “me” is the English word for “me”! So Mabame is for mother, father, and me.

How is Mabame different than Facebook, how is it a Facebook alternative?

Mabame is optimized for you to capture and recall all the important and fun details from your life. Facebook is optimized to show just what's happening today. Mabame keeps your life private by default while giving you the option to invite as few or as many people as you wish. Only friends you specifically invite can see your site and they can't see your other friends. Facebook is public by default. Everybody can look you up and it is confusing to know how much of your private information is shared and with whom.

How do I access my Mabame site on my computer, smartphone, or mobile device?

Mabame is a web application accessed via your Internet web browser. When you signed up for Mabame, you selected a name for your site. For example, if you selected a site name of “MyFunLife”, you would enter the URL “MyFunLife.mabame.com” in your web browser to access your site.

If you don't want to be remembered any more, logout will clear everything. Do not use Remember Me on a public computer or smartphone that others have access to.
